the instance of the Mayor of the city of Baltimore, or
the members of the Board of Estimates, before the
passage of said Act, in relation to its objects, 'or for
the purpose of defraying the cost of constructing, re-
modeling, altering, removing, repairing or straighten-
ing any sewer or drain within the territory known as
the 'burnt district,' or for the purpose of defraying
the cost of repairing, remodeling, altering, removing
or reconstructing any of the water mains sub-ways or
conduits belonging to the city of Baltimore within the
said 'burnt district' or for any one or more of said
purposes.' "

Which was adopted.

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Also favorably,

House bill. File No. 526, entitled "An Act to em-
power the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
issue the stock of said corporation, to an amount not
exceeding six million dollars ($6,000,000) for the pur-
pose of supplying additional means for defraying the
expenses and costs of carrying into execution the plan
of improvements, adopted or to be adopted, under the
terms of the Act to create the commission for Balti-
more city, known as the 'Burnt District Commission,'
passed at the January session of the General Assembly
of Maryland, in the year 1904."

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Jones, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

House bill, File No. 562, entitled "An Act to add 7
sections to Article 10, Code of Public Local Laws,
title 'Dorchester County,' sub-title 'Liquors and In-
toxicating Drinks.' "
