House bill, File No. 507, entitled "An Act to repeal
sections 740, 741, 742, 743, 745, 746, 749, 751, 758 and
704 of Article 4, Public Local Laws, entitled 'City
of Baltimore, sub-title 'Police Commissioners,' as
amended and re-enacted by chapter 28 of the Acts of
1898, as amended by chapters, 15 and 425 of the Acts
of 1900, and lo repeal chapter 16 of the said Acts of
1900, as amended by chapter 591 of the Acts of 1902,
and to re-enact the. same with amendments, to be
known as 'Sections 740, 741, 742. 743, 745, 746, 749,
751, 745 A, 745 B, 745 C, 745 D, 745 E, 745 F."

House bill, File No. 513, entitled "An Act to em-
power the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
make appropriations for certain purposes out of any
unappropriated balance of the sum of four million,
four hundred and twenty-two thousand, four hundred
and sixty dollars and seventy-four cents($4,422,460.74),
formerly part of the purchase price paid by the Fuller
Syndicate for the interests of the city of Baltimore in
the Western Maryland Railroad Company, and here-
tofore passed to the credit of the general sinking fund
of said city, and the interest accumulated or to accu-
mulate thereon."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out the concluding words of section 1, viz.:
" Or for any one or more of said purposes, " and sub-
stitute therefor the following: " Or for the purpose
of defraying the expenses and cost of grading or re-
grading, pursuant to the authority of the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, any street, lane, alley,
public square or market space, or any part thereof,
opened, widened, extended or straightened under or
in connection with the plan of improvements adopted,
or to be adopted under the Act of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, passed at its January Session in the
year 1904, creating a commission on the burnt district
of Baltimore city, and among other things, defining
its duties and powers, and regulating its methods of
procedure; or for the purpose of defraying the cost of
any preliminary work or services done or rendered, at
