Mr. Gibbs presented petition of B. W. Hazel and 77
other citizens of Kent county protesting against the
passage of the Haman Oyster bill.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Chesapeake Bay and Tributaries.

The following members were appointed by the
Speaker to serve on Senator Applegarth's Joint Com-
mittee on removing brick bats from the debris of the
fire of Baltimore into Chesapeake Bay—Messrs.
Murphy, of Baltimore city; Orem, Milbourne and
Godwin.

Ordered, That Mr. Bald be excused from to-day's
session on account of death in his family.
