On motion of Mr. Hill, it was
Ordered, That an additional room be assigned to
Ways and Means Committee for the purpose of quar-
antining the letters received from the Medical Doctors;
of the State of Maryland in advocacy of a bill for the
appropriation of $100,000 for a library building for the
Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland, and
that four stenographers and typewriters, and six ad-
ditional clerks be assigned to the Committee, and that
the Postmaster be directed to deliver to the Chairman
of the Committee five hundred dollars of stamps with
which to answer the. letters and that a commission of
five attorneys—of which Mr. George C. Morrison, of
Baltimore, shall be chairman, at a salary of five
thousand dollars per annum, to be named by the
Speaker of this House, to draw up the wills and settle
the estates of all the members oi the, Ways and Means
Committee, and take care of their widows and orphans
in the event of the failure of the Legislature to ap-
propriate the amount desired.

On motion of Mr. Crawford, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Hiteshew be excused from to-
day's session on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Melbourne, it was
Ordered, That the use of this room be granted to the
Committee on Chesapeake Bay and Tributaries, on
Tuesday next the 8th inst., from 10 to 12 o'clock, a,
m., at which time the committee and all others desir-
ing to be present will be addressed by Hon. Thos. C.
Weeks, Major Wm. E. Stewart, Hon. P. L. Golds-
borough and others, on the subject of Oyster Planting
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Fitzsimmons, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Stevenson be excused from to-
day's session on account of important business; also,
Mr. Green be excused on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr Bennett, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Hearn be excused from attend-
ance of to-day's session on account of business.
