Senate bill, File No. 843, entitled "An Act to repeal
and re-enact with amendments, section 8 of the Acts
of 1892, chapter 136 of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, entitled 'Au Act to incorporate the town of
Aberdeen, in Harford county,' "

Mr. Downs, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,
Senate bill, File No. 328, entitled "An Act to auth-
orize and empower the Mayor and Counsellor and
Aldermen of the city of Annapolis, to purchase stock
of the Annapolis Water Company."
Which was read the second time.
Also favorably with amendments.
Senate bill, File No. 350, entitled "An Act to auth-
orize the Board of School Commissioners of Anne
Arundel county to borrow money on faith of their in-
come as the said income accrues for the purpose of
enabling them to keep the public schools of Anne
Arundel county open for the full scholastic year of
1904."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In line 8 strike out the word "such" and insert the
word "a.", after the word "money" in the same line
"Strike out the words "as may be necessary." In line 9
after the word "open" strike out the words "the entire
time of the scholastic year." In line 10 strikeout the
word "of" and insert-the word "in." In line 17 strike
out the words "however that" and insert the words "the
amount so borrowed shall not exceed the sum of
$5,000 and the same shall be repaid and the debt ex-
tinguished within two years."
Strike out all the words in lines 18, 19, 20, 21 and
22 and insert in lieu thereof the words "the scholastic
year of 1904 shall cease and terminate on the first day
of June.' "
