( 8 ) Capt Whittington now Sitts Wheeler And the Said Margarett did acknowledge her Self to be indebted to their Maties King Wm & Queen Mary the Sum of twenty pound Sterling money of England, And the Said Jonathan:Towers & Edward:Wheeler in the Sum of tenn pounds apiece like money aforesd, all due to be leavied on their goods & Chattels lands & Tennements for their Maties uses &ca. _____ The Condicon of which Recognizance is Such that if the abovebound Margarett be of the good behaviour and abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this Province dureing this Courts pleasure, and also pay her fees expended, and that She leave Daniel:Donnahoes Plantation after she has finished her Cropp now in hand, then the abovesaid Recognizance to be void and of none effect otherwayes to be and remain in full power force & vertue. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Whereas Daniel:Donnahoes Wife was Sumoned in ye matter betwixt the aforesd Margarett:Gallaway & Tho. Quillaine and that it was appearant to ye Justices in Court Sitting that the sd Daniel would not Suffer his Said Wife to attend the Court. It was therefore Ordered the Said Daniel be fined for Contempt, for hindering his Wife to give her Evidence &ca...Ordered Likewise the said Daniel Give Security for his good behaviour &ca Ordr into Custody till given Whereupon Came the said Daniel Donnahoe with his two Securities (viz) Robert:Catlin & John:Harris and the sd Daniel did acknowledge himself to owe & be indebted to their Maties King William & Queen Mary the just Sum of fourty pounds Sterling money of England and the Said Catlin & Harris in the Sum of twenty pounds a piece like money aforesd, all due to be leavied on their Goods & Chattels lands & Tennements for their Maties uses &ca.
The Condicon of which Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Daniel Donnahoe be of the good behaviour and abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this Province dureing this Courts pleasure, and that he the Sd Daniel doe put or Cause to be put away or dismist the foresd Margarett:Galloway from of his Land (viz) the Plantation where now ye sd Margaret lives, after she has finished this Cropp now in hand, & that he shall not be Seen privately in ye sd Margaretts Company, and also pay his fees. Then this Recognizance to be void & of none effect otherwayes to be & remain in force &
Their Maties. Contra. } Mary Simpson doth acknowledge to be indebted unto their Maties the Sum Mary:Simpson of five pound Sterling money of England, as likewise James:Gray the Sum of five ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ pound like money of England. - - - - The Condicon of the above Obligation is Such that if the Said Mary doth on the Second Tuesday in August next ensueing the date hereof make her appearance before their Maties Justices of the Peace, and then & there answer unto what shall be Objected agt her by their Maties Clerk of the prsentmts. in an impeachment of ffornication and abide the Award thereof then the abovesd Recognizance to be void and none effect, otherwayes to Stand in full force & vertue as Wittness my hand & Seal this 24th. of July 1693 signum Signed Sealed & delivered in prsence of us Mary + Simpson ❂ Sealed Saml Alexander James: Gray ❂ Sealed Taken before me Tho: Jones. //
The aforesd Mary appearing at ye Barr, did Confess her Self guilty. & Said that Aaron Bishopp is the ffather of her late Basterd Child. Ordered by the Court that Said Mary give Security for 25 dayes Worke &ca for her fine as also to prosecute sd Aaron, & for her behaviour & fees &ca.
