James Noble Cooper. Plt. Somerset County Ss Contra } Wm: Millard late of this County Cooper was attached to answer unto James William: Millard. Dft. Noble Cooper of a plea of trespas on ye Case. &ca. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ And whereupon the Said James by Peter Dent his Attorney. Saith that whereas the Said James the 25th. day of March in the year of our Lord 1693 at Pocomoke within the Jurisdiction of this Court was posessed of one horse of the value of twelve hundred pounds of tobacco, as of his own propper horse, and being thereof So posessed, the Same out of his hands & posession did causually , which Said horse afterwards to the hands & posession of the Said Wm by finding Came. Nevertheless the Said Wm: well knowing the said horse, to be the propper horse of him the Said James & to him of Right to belong & appertaine, the Said horse to the sd James or to his Order, although often required hath not delivered but ye Same to his own propper use hath Converted & disposed and hath hitherto refused and doth Still refuse to deliver the Said Horse to ye damage of the said James of 2000 pounds of tobacco & thereof he brings his Sute. &ca.
