Adm^rs to pay or Cause to be paid unto Thomas Nutt Sawyer in the Same County aforesd his Heirs Extrs Adm^rs or assigns

the full & just Sum of One thousand pounds of good Sound Merchantable leaf tobacco & Caske Conveniently in Pocomoke

to be paid upon demand as Wittness my hand & Seal this Second day of Jan^ry in the year 1692.

                                                         by his Attorney Jn^o:Strawbridge. Comes & Sayes, that Whereas the Sd William

in his Life time & Sarah his Wife became indebted unto the Said George: Goddard in the full & just quantity of four

hundred & fifteen pounds of good Sound Merchantable tobacco, as my & doth more plainly appear by an acco^t here produced

in Court for which Said Sum of tobacco the defend^t did faithfully assume to pay to the said George, but the said

defend^t Contrarywise fraudulently intending the Said George to deceive of the sd Sum of 415 lbs of tobacco

but Doth refuse & Still doth to pay the Same, although often thereunto required, wherefore the plt Saith that

he is damnified & hath loss to the value of 830 lbs of tobacco & thereupon brings this Sute
