    just Sum of three hundred eighty & one pounds of good Sound Merchantable leaf tobacco & Caske Convenient att

   Some place in Pocomoke in Somerset County at or upon y^e tenth day of March Ensueing y^e date hereof as Wittness my

And whereupon y^e said George & Elizabeth by Peter Dent their Atto^rney Complains that whereas the sd George

Latcham the 26^th day of March in the year of our Lord 1687. was indebted to y^e sd Co^ll Wm Stevens in his life time

in the Sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco being for Sundry goods & Merchandizes by the Said Wm. in his

lifetime to y^e sd George Latcham Sold & delivered as p^r a perticular acco^t thereof hereunto anexed, And the

Said George:Latcham to the Said Wm:Stevens in manner aforesd being indebted, did assume upon himself

and to y^e sd Wm. in his life time faithfully promise that he the the sd Sum of tobacco Would well & truly

Content & pay. Nevertheless the said George Latcham the said Sum of 500:Pounds of tobacco to the sd Wm.

Stevens in his life time now to the sd Eliz. Since the death of the said Wm: now to the sd George:Layfield

Elizabeth Since the marriage between them had & Solemnized, nor to any of them hath not paid to the

Said George Layfield & Eliz. of 1600: Pounds of tobacco and thereof they bring their Sute and they bring [to]

Court the letters Testamentary whereby it appears the said Eliz to be Extrix & thereof to have Adm^rn.
