Within the Jurisdiction of this Court was indebted to the Said Edward in the Said Sume of nine pounds Sterling

as by a Certaine Bill under y^e hand & Seal of the sd James may appear to be paid to y^e said Edward in old English

money or pieces of eight at four shillings & Six pence each piece of eight upon demand. Nevertheless the Said

James the said Sume of nine pounds Sterling according to the tenour of y^e Said Bill hath not paid but hath

hitherto refused to y^e damage of the sd Edward of Eighteen Pounds Sterling & thereof he brings his Sute &ca.

Know all men by these p^resents that I James: Maynard of Snow hill in the County of Somerset in the Province of

Maryland, me my Heirs Extors, Adm^rs or Assigns, doe promise to pay or cause to be paid unto Edward Green of the Said

County his Order or Assigns the full & just Sume of nine pounds Sterling money of England payable in old English

money or pieces of Eight as four Shillings Six pence each ps of Eight payable to the Said Edward Green his Extors

Or Assigns upon all demands Witness my hand & Seal this nineteenth day of August 1692.
