The Defendant in prsona appearing, and by the Court examined did this day Confess the fact and Said that Robert:Blades was the ffather Contra } of late decd Basterd Child and made Oath upon ye holy Evangelists to the truth thereof whereupon the Court Ordered sd Eliz to pay for her ffine Eliz: Reed Dft thirty dayes worke with diet & tools when pr Court demanded. Ordered into Sheriffs Custody till Security given for sd fine behaviour ffees &ca. ___
Whereupon Came the foresd Elizabeth Reed & her Security Jno.Perkins and the sd Elizabeth did acknowledge her Self to be indebted to their Maties King William & Queen Mary in the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling money of England & the sd Jno.Perkins in the Sum of tenn pounds like money afd, due to be leavied on their goods and Chattels Lands and Tennements for their Maties uses &ca. - - - - - _______ - - - - - - - _________ - - - - -
The Condicon of the abovesd Recognizance is Such That if the abovesd Eliz. Reed doe pay ye abovesd ffine and to be of the good behaviour and abearancee to all their Maties liege people of this Province dureing this Courts pleasure and refraine the Company of the said Robert:Blades and likewise pay her fees then the abovesd Recognizance to be void and of none effect Otherwayes to be & remaine in full power force & virtue. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 3 Evidences Sumd 1: Sworne. Ordered By ye Worll. Court that Robert Blades give Security for his good behaviour & fees to part Company wth sd Reed Whereupon Came sd Robt Blades and his Security mr Peter Dent And ye Sd Blades did acknowledge himself to owe & be indebted to their Maties King William & Queen Mary the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling money & the said Dent in the Sum of tenn pounds like money aforesd, due to be leavied on their goods & Chattels Lands & Tennements for their Maties uses &ca. The Condicon of the abovesd Recognizance is Such that if the abovesd Robert Blades be of the good behavious & abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this Province dureing the Courts pleasure and pay his fees, as also part Company with Elizabeth Reed, then the Recognizance to be void & of none effect otherwayes to be & remaine in full power force & vertue . - - - - - - - _______ - - - - - - ______ - - - - -
To the Worll. their Maties Justices of the Peace for the County of Somerset in Court Sitting. The Petion of Margarett Drue humbly Sheweth. That yr Supliant is true & faithfull Servant of Capt Henry. Smiths, and as Such hath behaved yet [the] sd Capt.Smith her honesty not regarding doth Sadly abuse yr Petioner without Cause by beating and other wise= abuseing her yr Suppliant, therefore doth pray your worpps to take her Case to Consideration & give her redresse & your suppliant will ever pray . - - - - - ______ - - - - - - - ___________ - - - - - - - - - _______________ The abovesd Petion being Read. Capt Henry: Smith being Present Then made Oath in Open Court that the Said Margarett Drue had Run away from her said Service thirty Six dayes, besides five dayes more which the Said Margarett Could not deny. Totall Runnaway time was fourty one dayes, Which the Court grants Order for to the sd Smith agt Sd Margarett. als Executio.
