Their  Maties                                                             Somerset Ss. The Jurors for their Maties being Sworn
        Contra            }                               upon the holy Evangelists at a Grand Jury held for the
James:  Barry                                     body of this County the Second Tuesday of Septemr do prsent
~   ~   ~    ~   ~                                     & find that James Barry of Manokin hundred & within ye
Jurisdiction of this Court Tanner, not having the fear of God
Before his eyes but in Contempt both of the Laws of God & Man did wickedly & Shamefully
at the house of the Said James Barry, Steal kill & felloniously dresse One boare of ye value
of three hundred pounds of tobacco.  The Said Boar not being of the Said Barries Property or
marke & being forewarned of the Same. Yett the Said Barry presumptuously, the Same did kill
dress & to his owne use the Same did Convert Contrary to the good laws of this Province, Scandall
& Evill example to their Maties People.  Therefore their Maties Attorney Craves judgment
may be entered agt the Said Barry according to Law in that Case made & Provided.  &ca. C

Indictmt. being read to which the Said Barry pleaded not guilty & for tryall puts him
Self upon the Country ____   - - - - -   Whereupon Comand was given to our Sheriffe
To bring here twelve Good & Lawfull men that the matter in hand might be the better known
a list or pannel & pr Sheriffe are returned as followeth (viz) Samuel: Handy. John: Parsons B
Wm: Warwick James: Brattin. Moses: ffenton  John: Heath. Wm: Beddard  Wm: Dempson. Benjm
Jolett. John: Renshaw. Richard: Tull. ffrancis: Martin . 12 . ) who being legally Sumoned returne
& Sworne upon the holy Evangelists, who having heard the foresd Indictmt. read as also Seen
& heard Six Evidences Sworn & Examined, as also having had the perusall of ye Bonds &
Depositions received their Charge & are Sent forth to determine ye Same . ____   - - - -    ____
 
     Somerset Ss County in Maryland June ye 2: day 1692 .
   Know all men by these presents. that I James Barry doe acknowledge my Selfe firmly
indebted unto their Maties in the Sum of tenn pounds Sterling to answer ye Complaint of
Dennam: Olonman at June Court next being the 14th. day of this Instant month as witness
my hand & Seal -    -     -     -     -     -     -     -    -     -          James: Barry . „  Sealed C
Signed Sealed & delivered in the prSence of us
   John: Bennett      }

The Condicon of this Obligation is Such that if the above bound James: Barry doth appear
