Hannah: Holland                                County do present & find that Hannah: Holland of this
~   ~   ~   ~   ~   ~   ~                            County Spinster, hath most wickedly Sinfully & Shamefully
Comitted ffornication & born a Basterd Child to the great dishono^r of Allmighty God, Scandal
& evill Example to all the good people of this Province, & agt the good laws & institutions of
the Same.  Their Maties Atto^rney Craves judgm^t may be entered agt the Offender according

     The Indic^tm^t being read to which the Said Hannah: Confessed, & Said that Edmund Beauchamp
is the ffather of her Basterd Child. whereupon Order was given p^r Court that Edm^d
Beauchamp appear the next Court to answ^r to what shall be Objected agt him On behalf of
their Maties.Ord^r. likewise sd Hannah to appear then to prosecute.  Ordered also that the
Sheriffe take into Custody the said Hannah & at the whipping post to give her One & twenty
lashes on her bare back well laid On. which p^r Sher. was executed.   Ordered  likewise the
Said Hannah give Security for her good behaviou^r. _______ Whereupon come the said Hanah
with her Security Thomas: Tull & the sd Hannah did by Recognizance acknowledge herself to be
indebted unto our Sovereign Lord & Lady King William: & Queen Mary the Sum of Ten pounds Sterl
monely of England & the sd Tho: Tull did likewise in forme aforesd acknowledge himself to be
indebted to sd Maties y^e Sum of five pounds like money due to be leavyed on their goods and
Chattels, lands & Tennemen^ts for their Maties, their Heirs & Successors uses &ca. ________
 
The Condicon of which Recogizance is Such that if the above bound Hannah Holland be of
the good behavio^r to all their Maties liege People of this Province dureing the Courts pleasure
as also make her appearance at o^r next County Court to be holden y^eB Second tuesday in 9ber
then & there to prosecute Edmund Beauchamp as also pay her Court Charges then y^e Recogniz
to be void & of none effect Otherwayes to be & remaine in full power force & vertue . _____
