( 27 ) 7ber 14. 1692 Grand Jury was Sworn before Sd Wm: Morris Tryall being duely impannelled & returned whose names are as followeth viz Bryan: Peart, Wm: Wilson. Capt Wm Coulbourne. Samuel Horsey. George Wilson Samuel: Alexander Randall Mitchell Robert Catline Edward Dikes Hope: Taylor Hough: Porter. Isaac: Boston. Henry Hudson. Senr. Jno Smock Nicholas Lisney & James: Curtiss 16. = = - - - - - - Somerset County Sc. These may Certifie that three years ago, and Indian very likely ye bearer brought before me a Wolfs tongue & ear caused cut, for which gave him a Certificate, & told him he must carry it to Court, where he would be allowed, as English men for the like Service but Since hath Severall times Complained Saying he did carry the Certificate and laid it on ye court table, but as yett Saith had no allowance Given under my hand this 25th of June 1692. Jno. Parsons Wm. Warwick. James Brattin, Moses ffenton, John: Heath.Wm: Boddard.Wm:Dempson Robert: Smith. John:Renshaw Benjamine Idler Aaron: Bishopp.12. who being legally Sumoned returned & Sworn, having heard the sd Petion read as also the Examinacon of John: Ellis & his wife Elizabeth being both Sworn upon the holy Evangelist likewise the Examinacon of Wm: Planner & his wife Rebecca.receives their Charge & are Sent forth And this day being the 14th: day of 7ber, Ano. 1692. the aforesd Jury being returned in Court being Called over prticularly by their names, being all unamously agreed. The Plts & Dft being Called B The verdict is read as followeth (viz) wee of the Jury doe find for Moses Owen plt. that John Rowell doe forth with deliver unto him the Said Owen upon the plantacon of Thomas: Owen decd Seaven Cows and Calves. & our Opinion is, that the Said Tobacco, then made upon the Land did amount to 2500lb which was paid towards the purchase of the Land Sangster pr me Saml: Handy Order to Enter the verdict Jurors gives Rowell the fees |
