June 14th 1693 ( 242 ) Wm Tomkins having attended four dayes one day being allowed for Comeing to Court & one day to goe home as evidence in behalf of their Maties agt Ellis Coleman Craves yr worps Order for attendance. Court now Sitting that I the undernamed being pressed by ye (Constable) as assistance in guarding Ellis Coleman when prisoner in digging & tending Six dayes humbly Craves Order for the Same. pr me John: Watt. Courts adjourned till tomorrow at 8: a Clock. At a Court held by their Maties Justices of the Peace for the County of Somerset in the Province of Maryland ano. Mr Edward: Greeen pr request, was pr Order dismist from the Jury. Sarah: Whitty Orphant & Daughter of Capt.Richard:Whitty this day appa in Court as pr Order and also mr. Jno: Bozman & mr George:Betts. The sd Capt:Richard:Whittys Will beeing (read) the Overseers Bozman & Betts humbly requested of the worll Court that the foresd Sarah Orphant &ca with her Estate, might be put into the hands Care & Custody of her Brother in Law (viz) mr Arnold: Elzey which is the Courts advice likewise. ________________ Copy Sent To the worll. The humble Petion (of) Richard:Vardon humbly Sheweth, that yr Petioner, was the last November Court bound (with) bonds of behaviour, by reason of a Small fray between me & Richard: Tull Junr. yr (humble) Petioner humbly Craves to be released from his bonds & yr Petioner as in duty bound Shall ever pray Richard: ____ Vardon his marke.
