Bishopp. B of June in the year of or Lord 1693. at Monocan within ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ within the Jurisdiction of this upon their Oaths, doe present John: Bishopp of this (County) Labourer, for that the Said John. ye 17th. day of December last at Snow hill Towne (in the) County aforesd then & there most wickedly prophanely & presumptuously did utter ( ) Swear to the Numbeer of Seventeen Execrable Oaths besides many Pette One to ye great dishonour of God the evil Example of others and agt the Peace &ca & agt the Laws of this Province Dent Clk of prsentmts mr Samuel: Hopkins Senr. mr Matt: Scarbrough } Sworn in Court aft sd Bishop & Sent up Capt.Wm:Whittington & Peter: Bodkin _____ to the Grand Jury. - - - - - - - - Bill found Billa vera: Jno. Bennett. foremn After the Indictmt was read &ca. The Sd Bishopp desired the favour of the worll Court promiseing amendmt. of life. But was by the Court fined according to Law, it being his first Offence. Order the sd Bishopp give Security for his good behavior. ffines & fees Whereupon Came Sd Bishopp with his Security Robert. Pirrie. and the Sd Bishopp did by way of Recognizance acknowledge him Self to be indebted to their Maties King William & Queen Mary the Sum of tenn pounds Sterling money of England & the said Robt. Pirrie the Sum of five pounds like money afd both due to be leavied on their goods & Chattels Lands & Tennements for their Maties uses &ca. The Condicon of which Recognizance is Such that if the above bound John:Bishopp be of the good behaviour & abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this Province B dureing this Courts pleasure as also pay his fines & fees then the Recognizance to be void & of none effect otherwayes to be & remain in full power force & vertue . C Their Maties Somerset County Ss // Contra } May ye 15th - 1693 / James & Margaret Gray are indebted unto James. Gray & Their Sacred Maties the Sum of tenn pounds Sterling money of Margaret his wife England. John:Atkins & John:White. the Sum of five pounds Sterling ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ money pr each to be leavied &ca. The Condicon is Such that James:Gray & Margarett his Wife doe appear the next Court held for this County to answer in their Maties Sute & abide judgmt to what shall be alleadged (against) them by Michael:Holland that then this Recognizance to be void, or else to remaine & b - full force & vertue &ca.
