Knowledge not above four months past Robert:Darby his Brother was alive and in
health, resyding in New England, and about five years Since he went hence to the County
of Sussex, and from thence to Maryland & Virginia where he gott a passage to New
England, but went away privately being in debt and further Saith not

John.Donaldson One of their Maties Justices for the County of New Castle being (sworn)
upon the holy Evangelist declares that Some time in October 1691. in the Citty of
New Yorke, he Saw Robert: Darby who was well in health, and affirmed himself to be
the Brother of John:Darby & that he lived in the Collony of Conetticut in New England
and farther Saith not .     
   Taken before me this 25th. May 1693. One of their Maties Councel of ye Province
   of Pennsilvania &ca.                                   Jno: Cann.
 
 
               Which two foresd precepts or Depositions mr Edward Green of this County made Oath
upon the holy Evangelists, that he believed the two hands writing Signed to be ye
hand of Edward: Blake & John:Cann. - - - - - - - -   which being Considered by the
worll. Court, doe Order Ellis Coleman to give good Security for himSelf & wifes good
behaviour & to pay those persons that has been imployed in their Maties Service for ye
discovery of ye Suspected murther. Order the Sd Ellis into ye Sheriffs Custody till Security
given as pr Court is Ordered - - - - - -  Whereupon Came the foresd Ellis Coleman and
his two Securities (viz) Jno:ffreeman & Anthony Jones. and the Sd Ellis Coleman did
by way of Recognizance acknowledge & Confess himself to be indebted to their Maties
King Wm: & Queen Mary the Sum of fifty pounds Sterling and the sd ffreeman and
Jones in the Sum of five & twenty pounds a piece like money, due to be leavied on their
goods & Chattels lands & Tennements for their Maties uses &ca.
The Condition of which Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Ellis Coleman (and)
Damaras his Wife be of the good behavior & abearance to all their Maties Liege people (of)
this Province dureing this Courts pleasure, as also to Satisfie & pay all those persons
that has been imployed in their Maties Service for the discovery of ye Suspected murther and
