John:Webb & Tho Ocford ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ are holden, and doe acknowledge our Selves to Stand (firmly) bound obliged and indebted to their Maties in the Sum of ( ) hundred pounds of Lawfull money, And for the payment of the Same, well and truly to be made wee the Said Ellis Coleman. Matthw. Scarbrough. Jno:Webb & Tho: Ocford, doe bind or Selves Our Heirs, Execcutors & Admrs in the whole and for the whole Joyntly & Severally, dated (the) 7th day of ffeb. 92/3 // The Condicon of the abovesd Obligacon is Such That if the above bound Ellis:Coleman, and Damras his Wife, shall make their personall appearance before their Maties Justices at ye next County Court to be holden the Second Tuesday of March next ensueing then and there to answer what shall be objected agt them or either of them on their Maties behalf then the abovesd Obligacons, becomes utterly void & null, but if otherwise it abides and remains in full force & vertue in law, as Wittness our hands & Seals ye day & year above written. This Deponent Saith that being at the house of Ellis:Coleman on the Second day of this Instant he ye Deponent did hear the following discourse between mr Coleman & his Wife (viz) the Said Coleman exclaiming agt his Wife, calling her whore &ca. She then bid her husband goe help the men to digg up the man, which as the Deponant understood was (a) man Suspected to be murthered, he then desired her to goe & Show them where (the) man was, she then Said yw must tell me where he is, he then replyed to his wife you know where he is & have as great a hand in it as I have, this ye Deponant Saith and further Saith not witness his hand John: Watt. The Said Deponant Sworn upon ye holy Evangelists to the truth of all above written before me this 7th. day of ffeby 92/3 Wittness my hand. / Saml.
