( 229 ) June 14th 1693. Whereupon this Court Orders the verdict to be entered, and likewise Orders the sd Coleman to pay fourfold to John: ffreeman (viz) 1624 pounds of tobacco. Order the sd Coleman give Security (for) the foresd fourfold & himself & Wifes good behaviour. Order Jurors fees. - - - - - - - Whereupon Came the Sd Ellis Coleman & his Two Securities (viz) John:ffreeman & Anthony Jones and the Said Coleman did by Recognizance acknowledge & Confess himself to owe & be indebted (to) our Soveraign Lord & Lady King Wm & Queen Mary the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling money of England, And the Sd ffreeman & Jones the Sum of 10, like money afd, all due to be leavied on their goods & Chattels Lands & Tenements. for their Maties uses &ca . The Condicon of this Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Coleman & to be void & of none effect, Otherwayes to be & remain in full power force & vertue. To the Worll. their Maties Justices for Somerset County, The humble Petion of Jno.ffossett Humbly declareth to this Court That whereas John:Cropper deceased, did by his last will & Testament, in his Will give yr Petioner a Real & personall Estate, to enjoy & be posest withall at the age of eighteen years, And the Said Cropper in his Will did ordain mr James: Round and mr Charles:Ratcliffe, Trustees in the Said Will, To See yr Petioner at the Age aforesd have his part of the Real Estate & personall Estate delivered according to their devision. And whereas John:Cole of Virginia, did wright the said Jno. Cropper Last Will, and he being an ancient man & a forreigner for mortality Sake, yr Petioner therefore beggeth of this worll.Court, that the Said Cole may be examined & Sworn in open Court Concerning your Petioner Interest in the said Will, by reason the sd John:Cole can make Oath upon the holy Evangelist that yr Petioner is the Same man mentioned in the sd Jno. Cropper Will to enjoy the Said Real & personall Estate given yr Petioner in the Said Will. The prmises Considered by this Court, your Petioner Shall pray. Petion being read, Came the above Named John:Cole and did make Oath upon the holy Evangelists that the Petioner Jno.ffossett, is the same Jno:Cropper mentioned in the Will of John:Cropper deceased. The Worll. Court this day Order a Grand Jury to be impannelled which forthwith was & returne was pr Sheriff made as followeth (viz) Jno:Bennett. Ja: Givan. Mich: Williams. Jno. Rickens Wm:Stacy.
