Hope: Tayler Dft                               attached to answer unto John: Rowell of the Same

And whereupon the plt John:Rowell by John Strawbridge his Atto^rney Complaineth
-   -   -   and Saith that whereas Marg^t. the wife of the said John:Rowell, did in or about the
15^th of March Last an^o.1691. in the absence of her husband, Send a percell of yarns to Morumscoe
within the Jurisdiction of this Court to the Said Hope: Taylor to weave & make Cloth of to the
number of twelve yards of home made Cloth valued at Six hundred pounds of tobacco Mertable
as p^r accompt here produced in Court more plainly may appear, & was to have his pay viz A
paire of Shoos or a Bushell of Salt, for weaving the whole. 12 yards Notwithstanding the sd
Hope Taylor (as the plt was Credibly informed) Sould the foresd Cloth within a month after he
had recd the foresd yarn from the foresd John:Rowels wife upon which information the plt Jn^o Rowell
went to the Said Hope Taylor with a paire of Shoes being his pay, to pay the Said Hope for weaving
the foresd Cloath but the Cloth was Certainly Sold by the Said Hope. So that the Said Hope Taylor doth
unjustly & fraudulently keep & detaine from the plt. the foresd Cloath Contrary to law or Equity to
the ruine & undoing of the Said John Rowell his Wife Children & poore family, So that the Said
John:Rowell is made worse in Estate So that he is damnified & hath damage to the value of 1200^lb
of Merchantable tobacco, & thereof he brings this Sute
