( 197 ) March ye 16th 1692/3 (of the Said) Thomas Signed bringeth here unto Court, the date whereof is the day & year aforesd (pledged) himself to be indebted to the said Wm.in his lifetime in the Said Sum of 1400= Pounds of tobacco to be paid to the Said Wm. convenient to the which the Said Thomas bound himself firmly by the said Bill Nevertheless the Said Thomas the Sum of 1400 Pounds of tobacco to the Said Wm in his life time, nor to the Said Elizabeth while She was Sole and unmarried nor to the Said George & Elizabeth Since the Marriage between them had and Solemnized nor to any of them according to tenor of the Said Bill hath not paid but hath hitherto refused & doth Still refuse to the damage of the Said George & Elizabeth of 2800= Pounds of tobacco & thereof they bring their Sute. Dent pr Quer Pleg &ca Jno Doe Rich:Roe} Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Morris of Somerset County in Maryland now living at mr Rounds of Assateague, doe acknowledge & Confess my Self to be indebted to Wm: Stevens of Rehobeth in the Same County of Somerset Merchant in the full & just quantyty of fourteen hundred pounds of good Sound Merchantable tobacco & Caske to contain the Same. due to be paid to the Said Wm:Stevens, his Extors Admrs or Assigns for the true prformance of the Same I Thomas Morris bind my Self my Heirs Extors & Admrs firmly by these presents, it being for & in Consideration of the like value given the said Morris to Anne B Roberts, as Wittness my hand the 8th-day of October 1686.
