Wm: Burch.                                                   doe present Wm:Burch late of this County Labourer for that
~     ~      ~     ~      ~                            the Said Wm. not having the fear of God before his eyes (but)
moved by the Instigation of the devil on or about the 25^th. day of October in y^e year
of our Lord 1692 at wiccocomocoe within the Jurisdiction of this Court, then & there
being Several hoggs belonging to m^r ffrancis:Jenckins, & one bull & one Heifor belonging
to the Said Jenkins of the value of 2000 Pounds of tobacco, the Same did wickedly and
felloniously, thieve Steal & dispose of Contrary to the Peace, and agt the form of an act
of Assembly in that Case made & provided.  Dent Clk of p^resentm^ts.
 
The Indictm^t being read to which the Said Burch pleaded not guilty.  Whereupon Comand
was this day given to the Sheriff to bring here twelve good & lawfull men of his balywick
that the matter in hand might be the better understood, A List or pannel whereof ar thus
returned. (viz) Miles Gray. Tho: Morris. John:Kellam. John:Jones. John:Starlin. Geo:
Lane. Samuel: Johnson. Anthony: Jones. Teague Quillaine. Teague:Riggin Jun^r. Thomas
Gillett. Wm: Keens.Jun^r 12: who having heard the foresd Indictm^t read being duely Sumd
& Sworn upon the holy Evangelists receives their Charge & are Sent forth. __________
 
And this day (viz) the day aforesd Came the said Jurors of that Jury on tryall
betwixt their Maties & Wm:Burch. being unanimously agreed of their verdict
the plts & dft being Calld. the verdict is thus read (viz) Wee the Jurors find
Wm Burch guilty of Shooting of One Bull belonging to m^r ffrancis Jenckins
    To the value of three hundred pounds of tobacco  //  Miles: Gray. foreman

Tho: Rolph. Esau:Boston & Rich Cary.  }     The Court orders the aforesd Verdict to be entered
 
Orderd by the Court that Wm:Burch pay fourfold to m^r:  ffr: Jenckins  Ordered sd Burch
into the Sheriffs Custody till Security given for the aforesd four fold & Cost of Sute als Exeⁿ
