Anne: Woodland dft              LaneExecutter&Adm^r of the goods & Chattels of Josias Seaward

Late of this County deceased in an action of the Case ___ And thereupon the plt by James=
Sangster his Attorney Comes & says that the sd Wm: Woodman in his lifetime paid the sd Anne
(But) since the decease of the sd Wm.her late Husband hath enjoyed the Plantation of the sd Josias
Seaward Ever since the decease of the sd Josias & hath the same occupied & (mannured) together with
the produce of two Nigroes their work  labour and Cropps and the sd Nigros have enjoyed to her
(Said) dfts use and benefittthereby defrauding the widdowand Orphants of the said Josias deceased  
-  plt as Adm^r of the Sd Estate hath of deft demanded an acco^t of the Labour & worke of the
Said Nigroes Soas abovesd by the said deft employed for the space of two years as in equity she ought
but the Said Anne dft fraudulently  & Craftily intending to deceive the said Widdow & Orphants
will no wayes render an acco^t . though often thereunto required, of what by the Said Nigroes hath been
made uponthe sd Plantation  Wherefore the plt Sayes he is damnified& hathlosse tothevalue of
Seaven thousand pounds of tobacco & hereupon brings this Suite &ca.     {Jn^o.Doe

Lawrence:Crawford dft         unto Wm: Shankley of a plea that he render unto him y^e
~     ~     ~     ~     ~     ~     ~    full and just Sum of Eighteen hundred pounds of good
         Sufficient Merchantable Porke which to him he oweth & unjustly deteineth
And whereupon the Said Wm. by Peter Dent his Atto^rney Saith that the sd Lawrence the
Sixth day of Jan^ry in the year of our Lord 1689. at Pocomoke within the Jurisdiction of this Court by
his Certain Bill Obligatory which the Said Wm. with the Seal of the Said Lawrence Signed brings
here into Court the date whereof is the day and year aforesd acknowledged himself to be bound to the sd
Wm in the Said full and just Sum of 1800 pounds of Porke to be paid to the Sd Wm at y^e (Town)
or Port of Snow hill upon Pocomoke River upon the tenth day of November next ensueing the
date of the Said Bill Nevertheless the Said Lawrence the Said Sum of 1800 Pounds of Porke=
to the Said Wm hath not rendered but hath hitherto refused and doth still refuse to the damage of the
Said Wm of 8000 Pounds of Porke and thereof he brings this Suite.                  {Jn^o.Doe
