This Bill bindeth me Lawrence Crawford of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland
Merc^ht  my Heirs Execcutors Adm^rs or Assigns to pay or cause to be paid unto (Walter)
Shankley of the Said County Cooper his Heirs Exto^rs or assigns the full and just sum of
Eighteen hundred pounds of good and Sufficient Merchantable Porke at the Town or port
of Snow hill upon Pocomoke River upon the tenth day of November next ensueing the

Comes and Sayes that the dft is become and Stands indebted justly unto the plt. in the just
Sum of two thousand & four hundred pounds of tobacco in Caske to be paid to the sd Richardson
upon demand as will more plainly appear by a Certaine Specialty Signed & Sealed by the
deft bearing date the third day of November in the year of our Lord 1691. and here in B
Court produced, but the deft litle regarding his promise & assumption, but minding and
fraudulently intending the plt to deceive in the Sum of 2400. pounds of tobacco, the Same
hath hitherto denyed to pay & Still doth deny though often thereunto required, whereupon
the plt Saith he is damnified & hath losse to the value of 4000 Pounds of tobacco and thereupon
