And whereupon the plt by James: Sangster his Atto^rney Comes & Sayes that the sd Richard
dft is become & Stands indebted justly unto the plt in the full & just Sum of Tenn pounds B
Sterling money of England, as doth & may more fully appear by a Certaine Instrument
under the hand & Seal of him the Said Dft. bearing date the fourth day of October Annoq
Domini One thousand Six hundred eighty & eighty nine. in which Said Instrument which
is here in Court produced the Said dft did bind himself his Heirs Execcuto^rs and Adm^rs
for the true payment of the Said Sum of Tenn pounds Sterling money to the said George
Layfield his Heirs Exto^rs Adm^rs or Assigns upon demand But the said Richard Dft litle
regarding his Said instrument but fraudulently & Craftily intending to deceive the plt of y^e
foresd Sum hath hitherto denyed paym^t & yet doth deny though often thereunto required
