     Know all men by these presents that I Richard Dennis of Somerset County in ye
Province of Maryland Marriner doe acknowledge & Confess myself to owe & Stand
indebted unto George Layfield of the Same & Province of Maryland Esqr. in the just
and full Sum of ten pounds Sterling Sterling money of England due to be paid unto
the Said George Layfield, his Heirs Execcutors Admrs or Assigns upon demand it being
for a valuable Consideration allready recd, to the which payment well & truly to be made
& done I bind my Self my Heirs Execcutors & Admrs firmly by these presents in witness
whereof I have here unto Sett my hand and Seal this fourth day of October in ye first year
of the Reign of or Soveraign Lord & Lady King Wm & Queen Mary Over England &ca
