To be devoured not vouchsafing the infant a grave for fear of Suspicion But
eyes of allmighty God who sees & tryes the Secretts of all hearts & actions would
not prmitt or Suffer So horrible & wicked a Sinn to be Smothered, concealed or
unpunished did miraculously bring the Same to light by means of ffrancis Williams
the Wife of the Said Thomas, whome God of his good pleasure did wonderfully direct
to be a Wittness of their accons & that the Same might be made known, the Said ffrancis
at the house of Michael:Williams in Animessex and elsewhere before ye parties Mary
& Thomas & Several other persons Openly declare & with a loud & audible voice did
publish the abovesd Crime & accusing the sd Mary Berry of the Said ffact in manner and
forme as is abovesd. Now their Maties Attorney Comes and Sayes, that ye premises Considered
& the heyniousness of the Crime duely weighed, the Said Mary ought to Suffer ye pains
& punishments due to Such offenders according to law in that Case made & provided &ca.
Ja: Sangster. Clr Indts.__
   To which Indictmt. Sd Mary pleaded not guilty. Yett it Seemd good to the Justices
   the Said Mary give Security for her good behavior & Cost of Suite _________
Whereupon Came :Philip Adams husband to the Said Mary & Hope Taylor. and the
Said Philip did by way of Recognizance acknowledge &  Confess himself to owe and be
indebted to their Maties the Sum of fourty pounds Sterling money of England & the sd
Hope Taylor did likewise acknowledge himself indebted to sd Maties in the Sum of twenty
pounds Sterling. due to be leavied on their goods & Chattells Lands & Tennements for their
Maties uses &ca. C
The Condicon of the abovesd OP  Recognizance is Such that if the abovesd
Mary Berry alias Adams be of the good behavior & abearance to all their Maties Liege
People of this Province dureing this Courts pleasure & pay all Costs of Suite _____
then the Recognizance to be voyd & of none effect otherwayes to be & remaine in full
