( 11 ) August the 9th Anno Domini 1692. for that he should be the first Served and that he should be Sure to find every thing according to Expectation that he believed the said Jenckins might go to there by Eleaven of Clock ye next -- and therefore he would be Sure to Send a Boat & hands to attend his Coming: that he desired no long time then to lay out his goods upon the Shelves and Sort them: by reason of their agreement was that the Said Jenckins was to take his proportionall part of all the goods in the Invoyce of the goods then on board ye Sloop according to his quantity, the said Jenckins Said he desired there might be a right understanding between them, for if he thought a word of difference should arise, he would never have dealt with him: Dorman replyed there could be none, for his goods were very good & sortable & hopes the sd Jenckins would not utterly unsort him: but to take ye proportionable part according to his Quantitie of all the goods: and further the sd Dorman desired the sd Jenckins to call at Some places by the way up the River of Pocomoke, that he might be also Satisfied, if they would goe at 10s: pr Cent the said Dorman having declared: he would give no more for theirs: And that it was in Consideration of So great a Quantitie, togeather that induced him to allow the sd Jenckins so much And that the said Jenckins having lately bought goods might not want Some perticular goods to unsort him as his Neighbours that were Planters might And withall the said Dorman desired the sd Jenckins to be Private, and not blaze abroad what he had allowed to impead his markett, but that he might make his best advantage, in disposing of the rest of his goods at Snow hill, The aforesd Deponant also heard the Said Dorman repeat his bargaine on board the Sloop the aforesd day as they were going up Pocomoke River and also Saw the said Jenckins the next day at Snow hill, before any of the aforesd goods were put on Shore, and further Saith not. George Ero. George Ero: being Sworn before me, Saith that the Substance of what is within mentioned and was given under my hand this 6th: day of June. 1692 . Thomas: Jones. June the 29th: Ano. 1692 . Then George: Ero. made Oath upon the holy Evangelists to the within mentioned Deposition that what is therein Maryland Somerset County Ss The Deposition of William Bowing aged thirty three years or there abouts Saith: That about the 27th day of Aprill last past being at Snow hill at mr John:Dormans Store; and making choice of Some goods in Order to deal, it was proposed to the Deponant by ffrancis Jenckins to give him Credit in ye Store for Six hundred Seaventy Six and a half pounds of tobacco which I owed him by bill and had ready for him: which I requested of the Said Dorman: who readily and freely (re)plyed therewith publickly declared that if it were for a farr greater quantity he was as ready (to do) the same,and with that (went to) his book Charged the Deponent Debtor for the Same, and gave the Said Jenckins Credit, who the ---pal discharged me of, and from the Said debt before wittness, and gave me in my Bill.
