79 Know all men by these presents That wee William Turvell John ffranklin & James Round of Somr:Set County in y Province of Maryland Doe acknowledge & Confess ourselves to owe and are Indebted unto Edward Proffitt Son & heire to Thomas Proffit of this County deceased the Just Sum of Twenty three pounds Six Shillings Sterling money of England wch wee promise to pay unto the abovesd: Proffit or to his Certaine attorney or to his heires executors administrators or assignes or to whome the Law Shall require and for the True performance of the Same to be well & Truly paid wee bind us and either of us Jointly & Severally for and in the whole o:r & Every of our heires executors & administratrs: and Every of them (Servrly?) by these presents In Testimoney whereof wee have hereunto Set or: hands & Seals this 6th: day of ffebruary in y Second year of their Maties: Reigne William & Mary by the grace of god of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland King & Queene defendrs: of the faith And in the year of our Lord God one Thousand Six hundred & Ninety ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The Condicon of the above obligacons is Such That if the above bounden William Turvell administrator of the goods and Chattels of Thomas Proffitt of this County deceased his heires executrs: & admrs: Doe pay or Cause to be paid unto Edward Proffit naturall Son of tobacco goods or Chattels as Shall become due to the Said Edward when he Shall be adjudged to be of age & also honestly according to his Degree educate and bringe up the Sd: Edward duering the time of his Nonage with meat drinke apparell and Learning and also Shall well & truly observe and Satisfie the debts of y Sd:deceased upon ordr: had & obtained from their Maties: Justices of the peace in Cort: Sitting as also observe the Clause & Clauses & in the Sd: Letters of administration and to make noe waste Sale or destruction in off or upon the real estate of orphans vizt dwelling houses out houses Lands woods orchards and ffences observing that Law entituled an Act for preservation of orphans reall estates And lastly Save & keepe harmless the Justices of the Peace for SomrSet County for probate of wills and granting administracons And all other the officers That then this obligacon to be void & of none effect otherwaies to be & remaine in full power force & virtue / ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Signed Sealed & delivered william Turvile (Sealed) in the presence of us Jno: ffranklyne (Sealed} Jonathan Towers her James Round / Sealed) Margaret Towers marke An Invetory of the estate of Thomas Profitt deceased taken ffebruary y 3d: 1690 by the Subscribers / lb S D Imprs: Two Steares of three years old at 25S: each ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 2 10 . . four Cowes and three yearlings at ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 5 15 . . one Bull ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 1 . . . .
