In the name of God Amen this 27th Day of September Annoq Dom 1689 I Josias Seaward of Somerset
County in the Province of Maryland being Sick in body but of Sound & perfect memory praysed be almighty
god and Calling to remembrance the uncertaine estate of this Transitory life and that all flesh must ( yield)
unto death when it Shall please God to Call doe make Constitute & declare this my last will and Testament (in)
manner & form following revoking and adnulling by these presents all former wills by me made either (by)
word or by writing and this onely to be taken for my last will & Testament and no other Committing (my)
Soule to Allmighty God that gave it and my body to the earth from whence it was Taken to be decently buried
now for the Setling of my Temporall estate and Such goods and Chattells as hath please God farr above my (d- )
to bestowe upon me I doe ordr give and bestowe the Same in manner and form as followeth viz first my will (is that)
all my Just debts be truly & punctually paid ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Imprimis I doe give & bequeath unto my Eldest Daughter Abigal my plantacon Called Manloves Lott Containing four
hundred thirty three acres of Land and all the rest of my lands (except one hundred acres of Land Called Linsen
Green which I bequeath to John Parker Senr of Mattapenny) unto my Said Daughter and her heires for ever
but in Case She die without issue that then the Said Land Shall descend to my Daughter Phebe and her heires for Ever
but in Case She Should die without issue the Same to descend to my Daughter Elizabeth and her heires for Ever and ( )
She decease without issue the Same to descend to my Daughter Margaret and her heires for Ever
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Phebe one Negroe boy Called Scipio unto my Daughter Elizabeth one Negro
woman Called Boston and to my Daughter Margaret one Negroe man Called Casar ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Item My will and desire is that my Sloop Called Kingsale Shall not be Sold as long as my Brother George Seaward will (sail)
in her he being to have the third Part of her hire he keeping the hull of the Said Sloop in repair but when the said
Seaward Shall refuse to Sail in the Said Sloop any longer that then y Said Sloop Shall be Sold for money Sterling or Negros of
Conveniency of a market that Shall pr:sent and the produce to be devided Equally amongst the said Children who
meantime untill an oppertunitie doth present for the Sale of the Said Sloop that She Shall be unployed for the ( )
of the estate ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Item I give & bequeath unto my Brother George Seaward one Shallop Called the flyeing hound with her appurtenances
my Chest wearing apparrell and all my printed Bookes except a french bible which must remayne in the (house)
for the use of any persons that Shall frequent y Same also I bequeath unto my Said Brother one horse Called bayard
Item My will & desire is that my Daughter Abigal Shall be at age at Twelve years old and the other three Children
age of fourteen years I doe also Committ my Daughter Abigal to the Care of my Brother George Parker to be edu(cated)
by him and my Daughter Phebe to my Brother Joseph Robeson to be educated and brought up by him
Item The remayning part of my personal estate I doe bequeath unto my wife and fower Children to be Equally divided
amongst them and I doe hereby nominate and appointe my Brother George Seaward and Walter Lane (executors)
of this my last will and Testamt: Sign

of the Said deceased and to demand Collect and Leavy & in Legal manner require & receive all and all manner (of )
& debts due & oweing to the Said deceased and wel & faithfully to dispose of the Same and out of y goods Chattells (& Credits
of the Said deceased which have may or Shall Come to yor: hands or possessions well & truly to pay the debts & ( of)
said deceased so far forth as the Same will extend and the Law will Charge you according to the True ( )
Sum thereof you having first taken yor: oaths wel & Truly to administer the Same and to make or Cause to be made a
True & perfect Inventory of all & Singular y goods Chattels & Creditts of the Said deceased wch: have may or Shall (Come to)
yor: hands Possession or knowledge (appraysed in money) and A true & Just account of and upon yor ( )
