( 222 ) Done or perpetuated in the County aforesd, against the Laws and Orders of this our Province Provided that you proceed not in any of the Cases aforesd to take life or member but that in every Such Case you Send y Prisoners with there Indictments and the whole matter depending before you to the next Provincial Court to be holden for this Our Province whensoever or wheresoever to be holden there to be tryed And further we do authorized yw hereby to issue out writts processes, arrests and attachments to hold plea of Oyer and Terminer, and after judgment Executed to award in all Causes Civil whether in actions real or personall, according to the laws Orders & reasonable Customs and and used in this our Province of Maryland in which Causes Civil So to be tryed. Excepting as before Excepted. We doe Constitute, Ordain and appoint you mr ffrancis: Jenckins. Capt. John: Winder. mr James: Dashiel and mr Roger Woolford to be Judges as aforesd. And therefore wee doe Comand yw, that yw diligently attend the keeping of the Peace Laws and Orders, and all and Singular other the premises and at Certain dayes appointed according to Act of Assembly in that Case provided, and Such places which yw or any four or more of yw as aforesd shall in that behalf appoint. Yee (make) Enquiry upon the premises & performe & fulfill the Same in forme aforesd. Doing therein that which to Justices appert= =aineth according to the Laws Orders & reasonable Customs of this our Province. Saving to us the Amerciaments and other things thereof to us belonging . And therefore wee Comand the sheriffe of the said County of Somerset by vertue of these presents that at the dayes and places aforesd which you or any Such. four or more of yw as aforesd Shall make known to him to give his attendance on you and if need require, to Cause to come before ye or any Such four or more of yw as aforesd, Such & So many good & lawfull men of yr County by whom the truth premises may the better be known & Enquired of. And Lastly we have appointed John: West Gentl. Clerke & keeper of the Records & proceedings in this yr Court. and therefore yw shall Cause to be brought before yw at the Said dayes & places, the writts, precepts, process & indictmts to yr Court & Jurisdiction belonging that ye Same - may be inspected & by a due Course determined as aforesd. Given at our Citty of St. Maries the 11th. of April in the fourth year of our Reign, and in the year of our Lord One thousand Six hundred ninety two. Wittness, our Trusty & well beloved Lionell: Copley Esqre Capt .Generall and Governour in Chief in & Over this our Said Province of Maryland & the Territories thereunto belonging &ca. - - - - - - - L: Copley ___________ Sealed . Maryland Ss. William & Mary by ye grace of God King & Queen of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland Defendrs of ye faith &ca. To ffrancis Jenckins and John: Winder of Somerset County Gentl Greeting. Wee doe hereby authorize & appoint yw ye sd Jno Winder to Admr ye Oaths appointed by Act of Parliament to be taken instead of ye Oaths of alegiance & Suppremacy, as also the Oath of Justice of ye Peace to the sd ffrancis: Jenckins. & yw the sd ffrancis Jenckins having taken the Said Oaths are to Administer the Same to the said John: Winder and the rest of the Justices & Comissioners of y sd County respectively as they are named in the within written Comission, for all which this shall be yr Sufficient warrant and hereof you are not to fail, and when yw have So done, yw are to Certifie the Same, under yr hands & Seals to us in our high Court of Chancery with all convenient Speed.
