( 218 ) June 14th. 1692 Maryland Know all men by these presents that I Christopher Snoswell of the County of Somerset & Province aforesd Sayler, doe hereby bargaine & Sell unto James Dashiell. Junir of the County & Province aforesd, all the hoggs that shall or may appear to be mine, on the South Side of Quanticoe Creek there being eight Barrows and Sows at Sampson Watters Plantation, and Some at John: Marratts, & John: Davisis, all which I doe hereby bargaine & Sell and make Over unto James: Dashiel. Junir, more or less, being for a valuable Consideration in hand allready recd by me Christopher: Snoswell. as wittness my hand Seal this first day of SeptembR. Memorandum this 8th : of January 1691: Came the two above mentioned Evidences. (viz) ffarnell and Jones, and made Oath upon the holy Evangelists, that the abovesd Bill of Sale was Signed, Sealed Owned and delivered in their Sight; and of the Same makes Oath before me David: Browne. Know all men by these presents that I Robert: Cattlin of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland -- Planter doth Sell & make Over unto Gydeon Tillman of the Same County & Province aforesd Planter, & that for the use of Solomon: Tillman Sonn to the foresd Gydeon Tillman. a propper marke which is anciently upon Record in the time of mr George Johnson (viz) the marke is a flower deluce on both ears, & a hole in the left ear. I the said Robert: Cattlin, doth bind me my Heirs Execcutrs and Admrs to make the Said marke good to the Said Tillman. his Heirs Execcutors and Assigns. William and Mary by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland King & Queen defenders of the faith &ca. know ye that we reposeing Special Confidence & trust in yw Stephen: Luffe Gent. have Constituted Ordained & appointed, and do by these presents Constitute Ordain & appoint ye the ye, Said Stephen: Luffe to be high Sheriffe of our County of Somerset, and to have all Such priveledges & benefitts as any other Sheriffe within this our Province hath or ever hath had, held or enjoyed, to have & to hold the said Office of Sheriffe of our said County for one whole year to be computed from the date hereof, until another sheriffe in your Stead shall be by us lawfully by Patent Constituted Provided that yw the sd Stephen Luffe, doe in Open Court in the said County, take the usuall Oath of Sheriffe, and give good Sufficient Security for yr well discharging of the said Office according to Law.
