June ye 14: 1692 ( 215 ) - - - - - - - - - - - The Court then demanded Security of mr Stephen Luffe for the due prformance of his sheriffs place Whereupon the sd Luffe came with his two Securities viz. mr. Thomas: Jones & Capt. Jno: King - and the said Luffe did by recognizance acknowledge and confess him Self to be justly indebted to their Maties King William & Queen Mary the just Sum of two hundred thousand pounds of tobacco good and Merchantable due to be leavied on his goods and Chattels lands and tennements for their Maties uses &ca likewise his Securities abovesd did acknowledge themselves justly indebted in the Sd Sum of two hundred thousand pounds of tobacco good & Merchble to be leavied as abovesaid for their Maties uses &ca. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Condition of the abovesd Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Stephen Luffe doe well and truly performe the place & Office of high sheriffe of Somerset County & according to his Comission granted. that then this Recognizance to be void & of none effect otherwayes to be and remain in full power force and vertue . ___ - - - - ____ - - - - - _____ - - - - - ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ mr. James Sangster made Oath to prforme to ye best of his judgmt. the Office of Attrney for their Maties he likewise toke the Oath of fidelity & abhorrence - mr. Peter: Dent tooke Oath of Attorney & Oath of fidelity & abhorrence mr. Edward Jones took the same Oaths of the sd Dent. And mr Jno: Strawbridge ye Same mr. Samuel: Worthington. took Oath of fidelity & abhorrence & for ye due performance of his place as subsherr. mr. Robert Perrie tooke the same as of Worthington. mr Roger: Burkum. took Oath of fidelity abhorrence & of a Cryer to this Court. mr. George: Noble took Oath of fidelity abhorrence & Oath of Dept. Clerk to John: West to be faithfull therein ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Coll David: Browne produces his Servt. Boy Patric: Meclaster to be judged at this Court Nathaniel: Innis produces his Servt. Boy James: Linzey to be judged Isaac. Horsey produces his Servant Boy Jame: Crawford to be judged } none of ye foresd Servants Thomas: Davis produces his Servant Boy Patrick Erwin to be judged. were adjudged. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Comission for adjourning the Provincial Court this day read. - - - - - - - ________ - - - - - ________ - - - - - This Court appoints mr. Roger: Woolford. Capt. John: King & mr Stephen: Horsey to Speak to to Joseph: & William: Venables, to doe what is necessary to be done towards the repairing or mending the Court house, if the sd Venables refuse the same. then the foresd Woolford & the rest are by the Court impowred to agree with Such persons as will undertake the same, which worke is to be expedited against next Court
