The foresd Deposition was read in Court, to the truth of which the sd Rid made Oath too. - - - -

I John: Brown doe hereby declare what I sie & know Concerning the forsd accident. I went into the Cabin
and found the Master & Rott: Hunter siting together, & Rott: Hunter sad that he would goe along with mr Wilcock
and that he would give him doun one months wages if he would pay him the rest, and I replayed that he should not
have one farding, whereupon the for sd Rott: Hunter fell upon me, & aboused me, and the couck came & parted
him & me, and he fell a Struglen with the Couck as for ane envay or malise betwixt the Master & Rott: Hunter
I sie non along the voage this is all I can declare as wittnes my hand John: Brown.

I William: Gillilan doe declare what I know Conserning the for sd accident. I was upon Deck & heired A
Struglen betwixt Decks & I went down & I sie the Cuck kipen Robert: Hunter fast in his armes & I inquires
what was the mater & Rott: Hunter griped to me & did bitt my arm, So Rott: Hunter went upon Deck & presentlie
I sie Master Cruckshanks coming out of the Cabing with ane Sword & begnet, & I presumed to Stop him and
he bid me be gon, this is all I sie but the dead man laying upon Deck, I sie nothing along the rest of the voage
betwixt them tuo but love, Save this Sudent accident as wittness my hand. William: Gwilliland . ____ - - - -

I John: Patterson doe hereby declare what I know Conscerning the forsd accident, I was walking upon Deck
& lucking down I sie a Struglen betwixt decks whereupon John: Broun the Bosson cam upon deck & I asked
at him what was the matter wher upon John: Broun answered that Rott Hounter had aboused him because he
Said that Rott: Hunter should not leave the ship a litell yr after Rott: Hunter Came upon deck & said God dam him
but he would leave the ship and goe with mr Wilcock, & I said to him Rott doe you remember what thou his said
& he answered me what did I say, I told him thou said, God dam the if thou would not leave the ship thinkes ---
then that thou would leave the ship, the the Master should give the leibertie, & he answered me, then lett me perish
wher I stand if I would not goe, So I went betwixt decks & mr Wilcock caled me into the Cabein & as I enterd
the Cabein dore, I sie the Master tacking out Sword & Begnet both draun out of the Scaberts & I demanded
what he intended to doe with these things he answered me I will lett them know that I am Master so I endoured
to withstand him & he give me a push in the face & did bled the brig of my noss. So he went upon deck &
in ane instant of tyme William Rid cald doun to me Saying the Master his killed Rott: Hunter dead, wherupon
the Master Came down & his face for the most part covred with blood & the right arme of his shurt as if it had ben
dipt in blood, & I said what have you killed the man & he replayed he cannot help it, there is Some of our folks that
glories at it, this is all yt I herd & sied to the best of my knowledge knowing no malisie or envy betwixt them
formelie. John: Paterson.
The aforesd Deposition not read, the Deponent as said, was on Board the Shipp.
