Their. Maties Somerset Sc. The Jurors for their Maties being Sworn upon ye holy
Contra. } Evangelists at a grand Jury held for the body of this County the Second
Rose. Deaverley. tuesday in Nor. last past Doe present and find that Rose Deaverley Servant
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ to Anne. Bishopp widdow in Boquetenorten hundred & within the Jurisdiction
of this Court, hath most wickedly, Sinfully and Shamefully comitted ffornication, and of her body born
a Basterd Child, to the great dishonour of Allmighty God, Scandall and evil Example to all the good people
to all the good people of this Province, and agt the Laws & institutions of the Same their Maties Attorny
Craves judgment may be entered agt the said Offender according to Law in that Case made & provided &ca.
James: Sangstser Clr Indtmts.
Indictment being Read, to which the foresd Rose Confessed guilty: and Said that mr Alexander =
Mackswain was the ffather of her Basterd Child. & prayed that a ffine might be taken for her Offence
which being by their worps. Considered, The said Rose was Ordered to pay twenty five dayes worke
diet and tools upon demand, whereupon the Said Rose Came with her Securities to viz mr. Peter =
Bodkin and mr Peter Dent, who by Reognizance assumed in Open Court to pay the aforesd Rose ffine
and Court Charges . ______ - - - - - _____ - - - - - _______ - - - - - - ________ - - - - - ____
