March ye 9th 1691/2 ( 176 ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - Same Comissioners as aforesd. Orders the aforesd verdict be entered. Ordered likewise the said Margeret Kenneday pay The two thirds of that fourfold brought in pr Jury to Thomas Oxford which of yt 300lb. tobacco amounts to two thousand One hundred thirty three pounds and of a pound due to sd Oxford Ordered also that the Said Margerett Kenneday give Sufficient Security for payment of the sd four fold Behaviour and Cost of Suite. Ordered She remain in the sheriffs Custody till Security given asd is Ordered that Thomas: Oxford pay yr Jurors of yt Jury their accustomed fees ___ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Their Maties Somerset County Sc. Stephen: Page of this County Marriner was the fifth day of August last past bound Over by Recognizance to answer Contr } before their Maties Justices of the peace at a County Court the Second tuesday Stephen: Page in August, to answer what should be Objected agt him, by Thomas: Ockford - - - - - - Walter Reed and George Russell in their Maties behalf . _____ - - - - ____ And where upon their Maties Attorney. Comes and Sayes that the said Stephen: Page not having the fear of God before his eyes, but wickedly and felloniously in the spring last was twelve months, did by his wife Bridgett his Sonn and Daughter, at the said Pages Plantation, in Mattapony hundred within the -- Jurisdiction of this Court, Catch up and felloniously Steal, and kill two large piggs or rather Shoats above half a year old, which belonged to a Certain Sow, well known to be Walter Reeds, and used the sd Pages door of the value of 80lb. tobacco pr piece, both worth 160lb: of tobacco: And the said Piggs or Shoats so felloniously killed and dressed were eaten by the family as also in the Autumne following, the sd Stephen by his wife Bridgett his Sonne and Daughter and One Margeret: Kenneday, with a Nigro Man. did at the sd Plantation did wickedly and felloniously, Steal, kill, dresse, Salt and eat One Boar Barrow of the propper marke of George Russell of this County Planter, worth two hundred pounds of tobacco. NotwithStanding of the Sacred and divine Laws and institutions of this Province, But to the great damage of the Inhabitants ____ Scandall and evil example of the people and agt the publick peace Therefore the said Attorney Craves judgment may be entered agt the sd Stephen Page according to Law. Ja: Sangster Clr: Indtmts The foresd Indictment being read to which the sd Stephen Page Pleaded not guilty. Joyns issue The matter being Solely left to a Jury, for tryall of sd Page, his wife Bridgett, his Thomas and daughter Susanna. And therefore Comand was given to the sheriffe to bring here twelve good and Lawfull men of his balywick that the matter might be the better known a list or pannel whereof are thus returned (viz) Henry: Hall. Walter: Talbott. Edward Evins. John: Colhoone. William: Porter. Roger Burkum. James: Ingram. Joseph: Bainton. John: Browne. Thomas: Tull. Thomas Smith.
