The humble Petion of John: King Sheweth &ca. ____ - - - - - That mr Edmund Beauchamp late Clerk of this County decd Stood indebted to your Petioner the Sum of eleaven hundred & thirty One pound of tobacco, of which Said Sum your Petioner hath recd no part or percell thereof. Therefore humbly Craves your worps Order agt the Admr of the decds Estate and as in duty bound shall pray &ca Judgmt. Confest for the Sum declared for pr Admr July ye 1st. 1690 . mr John: Galbraith Dr lb pc. To 3 : gall of ru# & 6lb. Suger. - 150: pr Tho: Jones. _____ Judgment was Confest in Open Court pr Majr Robert King Adm to the Estate of sd Galbraith To the worll Comrs of Somerset County now in Court Sitting. The humble Petion of James: Pypon humbly sheweth That whereas mr. Galbraith (late of this County Mercht. deceased, became indebted to yr Petioner in the full and just Sum of fourty eight shillings Sterling. Therefore your Petioner Craves yr worps Order agt ye Admr of the said mr. Galbraith for the said Sum, and yr Petioner as in duty bound shall ever pray &ca. ________ James: Pypon Memorandum. That this day to witt the 24th day of December 1691: Came ye above mentnd James: Pypon (before me the Subscriber) and made Oath upon the holy Evangelist, that neither he nor none for him, ever recd any part or percel of pay for the abovesd fourty eighty shillings Sterling, Save fourteen Shillings which the above written mr Galbraith assumed to pay to John: Webb. (which if paid he is willing to discompt) also the value of One gallon rum recd from the said Galbraith in his life time ____________ Sworn before me Edmund: Howard. Judgmt was Confest pr Majr Robert King for thirty One shilling. Adm to sd Galbraith To the worll. their Maties Justices of Somerset County. George Benson humbly Sheweth. That yr Petioner through ye Instigation of an ill disposed person was drawn in that business relateing to William: Morris his Excape. for wch your worps were pleased not only to order me to find Sureties for the good behaviour but also to fine yr Petioner in the Sum of five hundred pound of Tobacco at a Court held in November last past, yr Petioner being heartily Sory for the Contempt Comitted, and well hoping it will be a warning from Comitting the like fact and also having a Considerable Charge to maintaine by yr poor petioners Only hand labour, humbly Supplicates yr worps favour in the premises, and that yr worps will please to discharge yr petioner from his Recognizance for the behaviour and yt the aforesd fine of five hundred pound of tobacco may be remitted and as in duty bound yr Petioner shall ever pray &ca Not granted.
