( 167 ) Then was this following Bond prferred to Court by mr Lazarus: Maddux, who requested the Courts oppinion whether the said Bond were Sufficient or no. the Courts opinion was that the Security was Sufficient Maryland Sc. ________ Know all men by these presents that we James Inglish and William Mason both of Somerset County Planters,& Peter Elzey and Samuel. Jones, both of Somerset County & Province aforesd, doth acknowledge our Selves and either of us, our and either of our Heirs Execcutors Admrs. joyntly & Severally to be justly indebted unto our Sovereign Lord the King in the just and full qt of four thousand pounds of good Sound Mertable tobacco and Caske to Contain the same to be pd Convenient in the said County upon demand and for true performance of the same, we the above bounden, doth bind us and our aforesds for the whole and in the whole, wittness our hands and Seals the Second day of January Anno Dom. 1691. In ye fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord and Lady, William & Mary King & Queen of England Scotland, ffrance & Ireland. ____ - - - - - - _____ - - - - - - _____ - - - - - - _____ - - - - - The Condition of the above Obligation is Such that whereas the above bounden James: Inglish & Wm: Mason were indicted by the Clerk of Indictments, by Order of Lazarus: Maddux of said County for hogg stealings, and being brought to tryall in Said County Court in June Last past and were found guilty of the fact, whereupon they obteined a writt or Error out of the high Court of Chancery for Stopping Execution until further hearing before ye Provincial Court of said Province which is to be holden April next. Now the Condicon is Such that if the said Inglish and Mason shall make their personal appearance at said Provincial Court, and their prosecute sd Writt of Error, that then and in that Case the above Obligation to be void and of no effect, Otherwayes remain & abide in full force & virtue Coll. David Browne in Behalf of Margarett Meclaster, Craved that letters of Admrn might be granted to the sd Margeret upon the Estate of Jno. Meclaster decd. which by this Court was granted. Appraisers appointed were. Robert: Collier and John: Browne. Order that mr James: Dashiel. Swear sd Appraisers ______ - - - - - -- _______ - - - - - - - - ______ Ordered by the worll. Court That Thomas Cox be added to the Overseers of Wiccocomocoe hundred - - - - _________ - - - - - - - _________ - - - - - - - _______ - - - - - - _______ Ordered that all the Overseers in this County forthwith Cause their Maties highwayes & Bridges to be amended in their severall precincts. ________ - - - - - - ______ - - - - - - _______ - - - - - - ___ To the worll Comissioners of Somerset County. the humble Petition of Thomas Dixon humbly Craveth That yr Petioner may have a letter of Admrn for the Estate of Robert: Dukes late of this County deceased and yr Petioner as in duty bound shall pray. _____ - - - . which foresd Petion to the sd Dixon as prayed was pr worll Court granted _____ Appraisers appointed were mr William: Planner Senior & Capt William Coulbourne.
