November ye 13th 1691 ( 140 ) - - - - - - - - - Jeremiah: Townsend for mishaviour was Ordered into the Sheriffs Custody till Security given for his good behaviour = To which judgment Majr. Robt. King. mr George: Layfield and Capt. John: Winder enters their dissents . _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ____ Whereupon Came the aforesd Jeremiah Townsend & by Recognizance did acknowledge him Selfe to be indebted to their Maties the Sum of tenn pounds Sterling money of England, due to be leavyed on his goods & Chattels lands & Tennements for their Maties uses &c. Likewise Came his Security mr Matthew: Scarbrough & did confess him Selfe likewise indebted the Sume of five pounds like money to leavyed ut Supra. __ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _______ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ______ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ____ The Condition Of the abovesd Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Jeremiah Townesend be of the good behaviour & abearance to all there Maties good people of this Province dureing the Courts pleasure then the Recognizance to be void & of none effect, Otherwayes to be & remaine in full power force & vertue . ________ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _______ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _____ Mr. Matthew: Scarbrough. Anno Domini . 1691 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ -- At a Court then held for the County of Somerset in the Province of Maryland by their Maties Justices thereunto authorized -- Comrs. Present Coll. David Browne mr ffrancis: Jenckins. Majr Robert King. mr Jas. Dashiels in Court.were } mr. Samuel: Hopkins. mr. George: Layfield. mr Edmd. Howard. Capt. Jno. King - - - - - - - - - - - This day this County Leavy was laid which did amount to 31lb: tobacco pr poll. -- there being no publick Charge brought in ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _________ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ To the worll. Justices of their Maties Peace for the County of Somerset in Court Sitting The humble Petion of Richard: Plunkett humbly Sheweth whereas yr. humble petioner hath been bound and is bound to the good behaviour & hath here appeared every Court Since, & no Complaint hath come in agt me, & I hope there is none will Complaine of me, as to my Bonds breaking your worps Petioner humbly Craves you would be pleased, that I may have up my Bonds & be released, & yr worps Petioner as in duty bound Shall ever pray. &c.
