13 This Indenture made the ninth day of January in the xiii year of y Dominion of the Rt honr:ble Charles absolute Lord & Propry: of y Province of Maryland & Avalon Lord Barron of Baltamore and in the year of our Lord God one Thousand Six hundred Eighty Eight Betweene William Keenes Senr:of Somr:Set County Senr in the Province of Maryland plantr:and Anne his wife of the one part And John Gosleing of y County & Province aforesaid plantr:of y other part Witnesseth yt whereas the said Lord Baltemore by his Deed of Grant under the great Seale used in the Said Province of Maryland for grannting of Land there bearing date the eight & Twentieth day of June in y eight & thirtieth year of his Lopps: Dominion Annoq: Dom: 1669 Did for y Consideracon - therein mentioned grant unto William Keens aforesd all yt parcell of Land Called What you Please Lieing on y east Side of Chesepeake bay in y County of Somerset in a river Called Wiccocomoco on the Northernmost Side of y Said River beginning for breadth at A marked white oake Standing by a branchSide Called Mitchellers branch near the mouth of y Said branch wch. runneth into the aforesd: river of Wiccocomoco & from thence running up the Side of y Sd. river a Streight Line one hundred & fifty perches to y Mouth of a branch Called Keene branch and from thence running up into y woods Northwest westerly three hundred & Twenty perches bounded on the west with a Lyne drawne Southwest from the end of the former Line for breadth one hundred & fifty pearches till it run to the Length Line of Allexander Mitcheller and from thence running downe the Side Line to the first bounder Containing Three hundred acres more or Lesse Together with all rights proffitts & bennefitts thereunto belonging (royall Mines excepted) To have & to hold the Sd:prcell of Land to him the Sd: William Keene his heires & assignes for Ever undr:Such rents Covenants Limitacons & excepcons as in & by the Sd Deed of grant recourse being thereunto had more fully & more at Large it may & doth appeare Now This Indenture Wittnesseth That the abovenamed William Keene and Anne his wife for y Consideracon of three Thousand pounds of tobacco in hand paid by y within named John Goseling before the ensealing & delivery hereof whereof and wherewith the Sd:William Keene & Anne his wife hath acknowledged themselves to be fully & wholy Satisfied and paid and doth off & for Every part & parcell thereof acquitt & dischardge y Sd:John Gosleing his heirs executrs: & admrs: for Ever by these presents Hath given granted bargained and Sold feofed & Confirmed and doth by these presents fully & absolutely give grante alliene bargaine Sell enfeofe and Confirme unto the Said John Gosleing and to his heires & assignes forever all that part or parcell of Land being part of y devident aforesaid Called what you please runing as followeth (vizt) beginning~ upon Robert Hardys Creeke near Two Spanish oakes runing into y woods north west halfe a pointe westerly one hundred and Six pearches from thence running to a marked white oake & from thence to a marked Gume one hundred & fifty perches Southeast easterly to a red oake one hundred & Six perches from thence to y first bounder layd laid out for one hundred acres more of Lesse: Together with all & Singular y roomes Cellers Sollets halls Parlours Chambers houseing Courts yards gardens orchards Closes Woods underwoods timber & Timberlike trees wayes & Easemts:fishing places & other appurtenances & emoluemts:whatsoever unto y Sd:parcell of Land (Containing one hundred acres more or Lesse being part of y Devident aforesaid Called what you please) or pr: misses or any of them appurtenant belonging or appr:taining had used demised or enjoyed as part parcell or member thereof or as thereunto or to any part thereof belonging or appertaining As alsoe the Sd:William Keene And Anne his wife for themselves their heires executrs: & admrs: hath granted bargained & Solld And by these pr:Sents doth give grant bargaine & Sell unto the Sd:John Gosleing his heires & assignes forever All & Singular exemplificacons of fines & recoveries cherographies of fines Charters Deedes Indentures Counterpaynes writings Conveyances Evidences & Scripts & minumts:whatsoever Concerning y pr:misses only hereby mentioned to be bargained & Sold and wch: now are in y hands or possession of the Sd:Wm:Keenes or Anne his wife or any other person or persons by their delivery or appointment or to their use or wch: they may have or Come by without Suite in Law all & Singular wch:Sd:exemplifications of fines Charters Conveyances - escripts and Minnumts: So hereby granted & Solld by the Sd: William Keenes & Anne his wife doth hereby agree to deliver or Cause to be delivered to the Sd: John Goseling or to his heires or assignes on this Side y feast of St:Michael y archangel Safe & undefaced as now the Same are To have and to hold the Sd: parcell of Land aforementioned of one hundred acres more or Lesse part of y devident aforesaid & all & Singular as the day pr:missed hereby mentioned to be bargained & Sold & every of them with their & every of their appurtenances unto him y Sd: John Gosleing his heires & assignes To y only proper use & behoofe of y Sd: John Gosseling his heires & assignes for ever without any Mortgage Condicon redemption use or Limitacon to recall alter Charge or determine y Same To be holden of y Rt: honr:ble y Lord Propry: for & under Such rents & Services as by the original recited deed of grant reserved & of right accustomed to be payd And the Sd: William Keene & Anne his wife for themselves their heires executtrs & admrs: & every of them y Sd: parcell of Land of one hundred acres more or Lesse being part of y devident aforesaid with y appurtenances before by these presents bargained & Sold unto him y Sd. John Gosleing doth for Ever fully - acquitt & discharge the Same of & from all Manner & other & formr. bargaines Sales forfeitures Doweries Joyntures Surrendrs: & of and from all other Titles incumbrances Claimes & demands whatsoever heretofore had made done Comitted omitted or wittingly or willingly Suffered or hereafter had done used Comitted or Suffered or procured by the Sd. Wm. Keenes Anne his wife theire heires or assignes or by any of them or by any other person
