(1939 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County", sub-title
"Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
1130. The County Commissioners of Montgomery County
are hereby authorized and directed to levy and collect a
special tax of ten cents on each one hundred dollars of as-
sessed valuation of all property assessed for State and
county taxation within the 22nd Precinct of the Thirteenth
Election District, as now constituted, lying outside of the
incorporated City of Takoma Park, and to pay said special
tax to the City of Takoma Park as compensation for fire
protection thereto; and said property so assessed shall be
exempt from the levy of any other special tax for fire pro-
tection purposes.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety and
having been passed upon by yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 1106A and 1106B of the Mont-
gomery County Code (1939 Edition), being Article 16 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Mont-
gomery County", sub-title "Takoma Park", and Sections
1300 and 1301 of the Prince George's County Code (1943
Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-
title "Takoma Park", as said sections were enacted by
Chapter 861 of the Acts of 1941, creating the Takoma
Park Fire Commission.
WHEREAS, The City of Takoma Park has established a
municipal fire department, thereby making these sections
unnecessary; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 1106A and 1106B of the Montgomery
