The said sum hereby appropriated, or so much thereof as may
be necessary, shall be allocated in such amount or amounts
and for such purposes as in the discretion of the Maryland
Commission on Uniform Accounts and the Board of Public
Works is deemed proper and necessary.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Treasurer of
the State shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse
the said sum of money herein appropriated for the objects and
purposes herein specified to or upon the order of the person
or persons entitled to receive the same.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage..

CHAPTER 38.
(Senate Bill 43)

AN ACT making an emergency appropriation from surplus
to the State Department of Health for paying the cost of
maintaining the Chest Surgery Clinic at Mt. Wilson, for
the fiscal years ending June 30, 1948 and June 30, 1949,
respectively.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50, 000), or
so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is
hereby appropriated as an emergency appropriation from any
funds in the General Surplus Fund Account of the Treasury
of the State of Maryland for the fiscal year ending June 30,
1948 to the State Department of Health, and that the sum of
Eighty Thousand Dollars (|80, 000), or so much thereof as
may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated as
an emergency appropriation from any funds in the General
Surplus Fund Account of the Treasury of the State of Mary-
land for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1949, to the State
Department of Health, said sums to be used by the State
Department of Health for paying the cost of maintaining the
Chest Surgery Clinic at Mt. Wilson.
