                                   CHAPTER 82.

AN ACT to define and establish the fiscal year of the
                                        Treasury.



Passed April
6, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That from and after the first day of
October next, the fiscal year of the treasury of this State,
in all matters of accounts, receipts, expenditures, estimates
and appropriations, shall commence on the first day
of October in each year, and the report and estimates required
by the constitution to be prepared and delivered
to the Legislature by the comptroller of the treasury
department shall be a report and estimates for each fiscal
year, commencing as aforesaid, and terminating on the
thirtieth day of September in the succeeding calendar
year.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the comptroller of the treasury department to submit
to the Legislature, according to the requirements of the
constitution, his annual report and estimates of appropriations
for the fiscal year, commencing on the first day
of October next, and terminating on the thirtieth day
of September, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-three,
and so for each successive year thereafter.
     Duty of
Comptroller.
     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the comptroller of the treasury department, in
addition to the annual report required by the constitution,
to submit to the Legislature, within ten days after
the commencement of its next session, a detailed statement
of the receipts and disbursements of the treasury
for the months of October and November next, after
the passage of this act.

                                   CHAPTER 83.

AN ACT granting the leave of the Legislature to the
     purchase of a certain tract or parcel of land from
     Mary A. Wilson and John J. Rawlings by the Vestry
     of Christ church Parish, in Calvert county.



Passed March
26, 1853.
     Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the leave of the Legislature is hereby given
to the purchase of a certain tract or parcel of land, by
