the vestry of Christ church parish in Calvert county,
from Mary A. Wilson and John J. Rawlings, which
said tract or parcel of land, containing one hundred
acres, more or less, is more particularly described in a
deed from said Wilson and Rawlings to said vestry,
dated the ninth day of December, one thousand eight
hundred and fifty, and recorded among the land records
of Calvert court, in liber A. R. S.  N. D., number four,
folio two hundred and eighty-two.

                                   CHAPTER 84.

AN ACT to incorporate the Eastern Shore Rail Road
                                       Company.
     Commissioners
appointed.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That Washington Frisby, George Vickers,
Richard C. Carter, Walter P. Snow, John R.
Franklin, Thomas H. Hicks, John W. Crisfield, Samuel
S. Costen, Purnell Toadvine, Theodore Parsons,
John C. Groome, Tench Tilghman and James A.
Stewart, be, and they are hereby appointed commissioners,
under the direction of any five of whom subscriptions
may be received to the capital stock of the
Eastern Shore Rail Road company, hereby incorporated,
and they, or any five of them, may cause books to
be opened, at such times and places as any five of them
may direct, for the purpose of receiving subscriptions to
the capital stock of said company, after having given
such notice of the times and places of opening the same
as they may deem proper, and upon the first opening
of the said books, they shall be kept open for at least
five successive days, from ten o'clock, A. M., to two
o'clock, P. M., and if at the expiration of that period
such a subscription to the capital stock of the said company,
as is necessary to its incorporation shall not have
been obtained, the said commissioners, or any five of
them, may cause the said books to be opened from time
too time after the expiration of the said five days within
the space of five years thereafter, or until the amount
of stock necessary to the incorporation of said company
shall have been subscribed, if sooner subscribed, and if
any of the said commissioners shall die, resign or refuse
to act during the time for the continuance of the duties
imposed on them by this act, another or others may be
