their proceedings in pursuance of this act, to the clerk
of the circuit court of Anne Arundel county, and to the
clerk of the commissioners of said county.

      SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the new election
district thus formed, shall hereafter be election district
number five, and the place of voting in said district
shall be at Joab Smith's.
     Place of voting.
     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That the judges of election
for said district number five, shall be appointed at
the same time when the other judges of election for
said county shall be appointed.
Appointment
of judges.
     SEC. 4.  And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of Anne Arundel county, be and they are hereby authorised
and directed to pay to each of said commissioners
appointed by the first section of this act, the
sum of two dollars per day for each and every day they
are occupied in the performance of the duty required
of them under the provisions of this act, and that the
county commissioners be and they are hereby authorised
and required to levy upon the assessable property
of said county for that purpose.
     Authority to
pay commissioners.
     SEC. 5.  And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force from and after its passage.

                                   CHAPTER 79.

AN ACT to authorise Dewit C. Handy, guardian of the
     children of Smart B. Lecompte, late of Dorchester
     county, deceased, to apply the surplus rents of the
     real estate of the deceased to the payment of his
     debts.

26, 1853.
     WHEREAS, It is represented to this General Assembly,
that Smart B. Lecompte, late of Dorchester county,
died, leaving certain real and personal estate; And
whereas,
all the personal and part of the real estate,
has been sold and appointed towards the payment of his
debts, leaving a large farm unsold, and eight or nine
hundred dollars of his debts unpaid; And whereas,
Dewit C. Handy has been appointed guardian of the
children of the said deceased, and there has accumulated
about four hundred dollars in hand from the rents of
said farm, over and above the amount requisite for the
support of the said children; Now therefore,
