                           CHAPTER 383.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay Nathaniel
     Duke, Clerk of Circuit Court for Calvert
     County, for certain fees due him by the State.
     Authority to pay.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the Treasurer upon the warrant
of the Comptroller, be, and he is hereby authorised
and directed to pay to the order of Nathaniel Duke, the
sum of twenty-seven dollars and forty-five cents, being
the amount of fees due him by the State.
In force.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

                           CHAPTER 384.

AN ACT to authorise the opening of a public road to
     some point on Saint Clements Run, in Saint Mary's
      county, and to establish a Public Landing thereat.
     Authority to
appoint examiners.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the county commissioners of Saint
Mary's county, are hereby authorised, if they think the
public convenience require it, to appoint three examiners
who shall have power to enter upon, survey, locate
and condemn a public road from some point of the
public road leading from the head of Saint Clements
Bay, toward milestown, to some point on Saint Clements
run, suitable for a public landing, and the said examiners
shall have power to survey, locate and condemn
at the terminus of said road on said run, a lot of
ground not exceeding one-half acre to be used as a
public landing.
Oath.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That said examiners or
a majority of them, having first taken an oath that they
will faithfully execute the provisions of this act, without
partiality or prejudice, shall estimate the value of
the land which they may designate for said public road
and landing, and the reasonable damages which shall
accrue therefrom, to the owner of the land through
and on which said road and landing shall be located,
and they shall report to the county commissioners of
