                                   CHAPTER 62.

AN ACT to increase the Primary School fund of
                                   Howard county.



Passed March
19, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the county commissioners of Howard
county, be and they are hereby authorised and required
at their next annual levy laying term, and at the
same term annually thereafter, to levy on the assessable
property of the said county, in addition to the sum which
is now required to be levied, for the support of the primary
schools, a sum sufficient to give to each primary
school in said county, in addition to the sum which
is now required to be levied, for the support of the primary
schools, a sum sufficient to give to each primary
school in said county the sum of fifty dollars, in addition
to the sum now received.
     Authority to
levy.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That all acts and parts
of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be
and the same are hereby repealed.
Repealed.
     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
In force.


                                   CHAPTER 63.

AN ACT to amend and explain the act for the appointment
     of Commissioners for the regulation and improvement
     of Cambridge, in Dorchester county, and
      to establish and regulate a Market in said town, passed
      at November session, seventeen hundred and ninety-three,
      chapter sixty-six.

     WHEREAS, Doubts exist whether the limits of the
town of Cambridge can be extended by the present
board of commissioners without further legislation;
Therefore,
Preamble.
      SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Cambridge, or
a majority of them, and their successors, shall have
power and authority to extend the limits of Cambridge
whenever in their judgment the extension thereof may
be deemed essential to the welfare of the citizens of the
said town; Provided however, that every extension of
the limits of said town shall be made in conformity
     Authority to
extend limits.
