of the Comptroller of the treasury, by means whereof
the said records and papers are now in a great state of
exposure and disarrangement, there being no place
inaccessible to the citizens of this and other States, who
may require official copies thereof; Therefore,
     Sum appropriated.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the sum of five hundred dollars
is hereby appropriated for making and putting up in
the room of the Court of Appeals all such cases as
shall be deemed necessary and proper, in the discretion
of the clerk of the said court, for the deposit and safe
keeping of the said records, papers and acts of Assembly,
and the Treasurer is hereby authorised to pay the
said sum of money on the warrant of the Comptroller,
or so much thereof as may be necessary for said purpose,
out of the money in the treasury arising from the
ordinary revenue, to the said clerk or his order.
     Return of
vouchers.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the said clerk of
the Court of Appeals shall return to the Comptroller
an account with the vouchers for the payment of all
sums of money expended by him under and by virtue
of this act.
In force.
     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That this act shall go
into effect from and after its passage.

                           CHAPTER 372.

AN ACT to carry into effect in part the eighth section
     of the seventh article of the Constitution, by determining
     the number of County Commissioners for
     the several counties.
     Number of
commissioners.
     Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the number of county commissioners, for the
several counties, shall be as follows:  for Allegany,
three; for Anne Arundel, three; for Baltimore, three;
for Calvert, three; for Caroline, three; for Carroll,
three; for Cecil, three; for Charles, three; for Dorchester,
seven; for Frederick, five; for Harford, five;
for Howard, three; for Kent, three; for Montgomery,
five; for Prince George's, five; for Queen Ann's,
three; for St. Mary's, five; for Somerset, three; for
Talbot, three; for Washington, five; for Worcester, five.
