Commissioners
appointed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Dorsey Jacob, Orlando Hancock,
William Weedon, Zachariah Duvall and Theodore
Revell, or a majority of them, be, and they are hereby
appointed commissioners to ascertain and establish a
place for holding the elections in the third election district
of Anne Arundel county, as nearly central as
practicable having regard to the extent of said district,
and the convenience and accommodation of the voters
therein, and the said commissioners or a majority of
them shall on or before the first day of September next,
make out and deliver to the clerk of the Circuit court
of said county, a full description in writing under their
hands of the place which they may designate for holding
the elections in said district, and the said clerk
shall record the same among the records of his office,
and cause a copy thereof to be published in the newspapers
printed in the city of Annapolis for at least three
consecutive weeks prior to the next general election.

Meeting.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the said commissioners
or a majority of them, shall meet at such place
in said district as they may designate for the purpose of
performing the duties required of them by this act, and
may adjourn from time to time until they shall have
discharged the duties required of them by the same.

Vacancy—
how filled.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That if a majority of
said commissioners shall refuse to act, resign, die or remove
from said district, the county commissioners of
said county shall fill such vacancy or vacancies by the
appointment of other persons in their stead to be residents
of said district.

Compensation.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted,
That for the services
which may be required of said commissioners in virtue
of this act, the county commissioners of said county
shall allow such reasonable compensation as they may
deem just and proper, to be paid out of the next annual
levy in said county.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
