CHAPTER 353.
AN ACT to repeal the seventh section of the act passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and forty-one,
chapter two hundred and eighty-two, entitled, an act
to authorise the licensing of Stock Brokers, Exchange
Brokers and Bill Brokers, and to regulate contracts
for the purchasing and sale of loans and stocks.

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the seventh section of the act passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and forty-one,
chapter two hundred and eighty-two, entitled, an act
to authorise the licensing of stock brokers, exchange
brokers and bill brokers, and to regulate contracts for
the purchase and sale of loans and stock, which said
section makes void all contracts and agreements for sale
of stock when made for a period beyond five judicial
days, and which imposes a fine for the same, be and
the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 354.
AN ACT to provide for the payment of legal fees due
to James Ll. Martin, for services rendered as Prosecuting
Attorney.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, James Ll. Martin, by
the direction of the
Governor of this State, assisted the prosecutor of Caroline
county, in the prosecution of Theodore Loockerman,
who was put upon his trial in said county, for an
assault with intent to kill; And whereas, it is right and
proper that the said Martin should be remunerated for
the services thus rendered; Therefore,

Sum appropriated.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of four hundred and fifty
dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated to the
payment of the claim of James Ll. Martin, for services
rendered by him as attorney for the State, in Caroline
county, and the Comptroller is hereby directed and
